The Korver Family
The Korver family’s love for goats began in their 4-H days, where they earned numerous first-place awards for their exceptional animals. It was in the goat pens at 4-H shows that Justin and Brittany met, and their shared passion for goats grew into a lifelong love and a family dedicated to goat care.
After completing their education, they began breeding goats on their Iowa goat farm, and Justin started making cheese as a hobby. As he shared his creations, the demand for his Iowa goat cheese quickly grew.
Their passion for both cheesemaking and raising goats—especially the playful goat kids—led them to dream of opening their own creamery. That dream became a reality in 2023 with the founding of Favorite, LLC, an Iowa goat creamery dedicated to crafting delicious, handcrafted cheese from their award-winning goats and award-winning goat cheese and gelato.
The Dykstra Family
The Dykstra family’s passion for business began early, with DeWayne Dykstra founding The Wood Shop, Inc. From a young age, Josh, James, and Jake developed a strong work ethic, learning the craft of cabinet building and hand-sanding. After college, each brother joined the family business, always seeking new opportunities to grow and expand their business knowledge.
Their journey led them to the Korver family, who had a vision for launching an Iowa goat creamery specializing in Iowa goat cheese. Recognizing the exciting potential of this venture, the Dykstra's eagerly explored the world of cheesemaking, tasting different varieties, and learning about life on an Iowa goat farm.
After many discussions—and plenty of cheese tasting—the partnership was born. In 2023, the Dykstra and Korver families joined forces to bring the Korver's dream to life, officially launching Favorite, LLC, a creamery dedicated to producing high-quality, artisanal goat cheese in Iowa.
